We’ve been streaming off and on all day, so it’s safe to say this is going to be an ongoing occurrence. I created my character and played my first quest. Wasn’t too bad and I didn’t faint! I made my character look like Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Tail, named him Natsu and then made my Palico blue, naming him Happy. XD Cam is a female and has a Palico named Peech, after his real cat, Princess Peach (we usually call her Peaches or Peech Peech for short). Anyway! If you’d like to see our streams, follow us on twitter and/or Twitch so you’ll be notified whenever we go live! Don’t be shy and feel free to message us in chat ^_^. We do want to connect with the people we’re creating content for! Hope to see you!

Cameron and I play Final Fantasy XIV Online so I decided I should start blogging about it. FFXIV is my first mmorpg. I went into it without knowing what I was doing. Thankfully Cameron is a 5 year WoW vet, so I had some back up. I never did understand how WoW players could get sucked into these games for hours on end. I didn’t understand it until I decided I wanted to try FFXIV. Six months later, I totally get it.
I started out as a healer and really thought I could be good at it. I was warned by Cam and a mutual friend of ours (whose already been playing for 2 years) that I was going to struggle. My first dungeon was the biggest blunder ever. The tank died twice and half the time I was running around in a panic. The guys couldn’t stop laughing at me, of course. Luckily, the tank was new too so they were very patient.
I noticed a lot of players in FFXIV are kind and usually pretty patient. It’s rare I come across an a jerk on my server. Most of the time I stuck with Cam and my friend while I tried to learn the ropes of being a healer. Some how, I made it all the way to Heavensward as a healer. I tried Scholar first. I remember the rush I felt fighting the first dragon as a scholar. It was a lot of pressure to heal and throw spells at dragon at the same time. I can’t say i was that good at it but some how I made it through without getting killed. I had so much adrenaline running through my body after that battle. It’s an addicting feeling. I was fighting right along side other players, working together to take down one enemy. It was awesome!
Halfway through Heavensward, I tried out Astrologian. Although, I did love it, I was starting to dislike being a healer. I switched to Summoner for awhile but I was getting tired of the long cool downs. I had my rotations down and I knew that was just how it rolls being a Summoner but I just didn’t like it. That’s when I decided to be a monk. My characters name is Khloe Dragneel so, why not, right? If you don’t know the name, “Dragneel”, just google “Fairy Tail”. Anyway, I went for it and was instantly happy with it. I quickly leveled the class up and finished the rest of the expansions as a monk. I even wear a glamour outfit that looks just like Natsu Dragneel’s. I don’t feel stressed playing this class like I did as a healer. I actually have a lot of fun now. Trying to be a healer was a bad idea. If your’e a newbie, don’t do it. LOL
This game is very rewarding and you feel like you are part of the story and part of that world. You talk and interact with the characters. You create bonds and you mourn when they die. Playing an MMORPG is like stepping away from the real world for a few hours and pretending to be this other person in this other world. You feel like you matter. I’m a shy person, not to mention socially awkward. This game makes me feel like I actually contribute to a cause, even if it is just a game. It’s a good feeling knowing your actions helped out someone else and that happens all the time in the game.
Now you can expect blogs of my adventures in Eorzea. If you play FFXIV, you can find me on the Leviathian Server. Cam and I have a guild called “Kelpie Tail” in the Mist Ward 9 of La Noscea. We’d love to make new friends so feel free to stop by if we’re online or leave a message in our inbox! We’re also accepting guild members. 🙂
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our twitch channel since we stream pretty regularly now!
The Ancient Magus Bride is something that am particularly attached to. After the disaster of Worldend (I can’t even with the ending of that series -__-), I was bummed out that I didn’t get a decent romance for the season. Then I discovered The Ancient Magus Bride as soon as it started simulcasting and immediately started watching new episodes every week.
I LOVE this series so far. It gives a bit of a “beauty and the beast” kind of vibe although Elia’s personality is a lot more pleasant charming than the hot tempered grumbling beast of fairy tales. The opening of this anime is gorgeous and I watch it every episode without skipping it. I don’t skip most anime openings or endings because I tend to find entertainment value in them. The music is enchanting and you can almost feel the Chise’s emotions flowing through it, from despair to wonder. The opening vividly shows just what kind of impact Elias has on Chise’s life the moment he enters it.
The romance actually has developed faster than I anticipated but not in a way that felt rushed. They were both lonely wanting companionship and they quickly found it within each other. I love how different they are from each other because it balances the relationship between the two. Chise tends to make decisions based on how she feels while Elia’s bases them on logic.
I’m currently watching the dub and I’m pleased with casting choices. I’ve heard Brian Mathis’ voice in a fair share of anime and he’s pretty good at bringing out a character’s personality. He plays characters of this type very well which is probably why he tends to land these types of roles. I’m fine with that. Put people in their strong suits. I’m not familiar with Dani Chambers, but with as much dubbed anime as I’ve watched, I’m sure she’s been in something I’ve seen. I love her voice and what she brings to Chise’s tone and voice inflection. I think she does it perfectly and it suits the character. And then there’s the man whose in everything and he plays a character that just makes me laugh. There’s no way it’s a coincidence but if it is, then it’s a pretty hilarious one. If you’re familiar on who the top dogs of dubbed anime voice actors are, then you probably know I’m talking about Todd Haberkorn (huge fan). He plays Lindenbaum (or Lindel), who happens to be the care taker of dragons…DRAGONS. Makes me wonder if he’s fired up for the final season of Fairy Tail this September. XD Anyway, I love what he brings to this character. Although at first I tend to think of Natsu Dragneel every time I hear Todd’s voice, it never last long. After a few lines, his voice becomes the voice of the character he’s playing and then I forget this voice is also used for my favorite loud mouth dragon slayer. That takes incredible talent. Leave it to Todd to bring a lot to a side character without overshadowing the protagonists. Bravo. (I might be a tad biased).
According to online sources it looks like we’re getting 24 episodes. There’s 8 volumes of the manga released and from what I read it’s still ongoing (correct me if I’m wrong tho!). There’s so much mystery and so much unexplained, I just want to watch more and discover what happens between these two and the world they’re apart of. Have you been watching Ancient Magus Bride? What do you think of it so far? Let me know in the comments!
I finally have a blog schedule set up, although a bit loosely. I’ll be posting first impressions, mid season reviews, and end of season reviews instead of individual episode reviews. It’ll make it much easier to keep up since I do have to work 40 hours a week. LOL. Producing content doesn’t make us money just yet! If you wanna help us fix that, don’t forget to check out our Patreon!
We’re back! Sadly, life threw a few curve balls but we’re now able to start blogging again! If you’ve stuck with us and follow us on Twitter, you might’ve noticed we started streaming regularly on Twitch. This will start to be a regular trend now. If you’re into gaming, be sure to check out our Channel, The Two Sills!
There’s a lot to discuss regarding anime and manga, so in the next few days I’ll be working on some reviews of a couple anime and manga I’ve been keeping up with over the Summer and Fall season. The Fairy Tail manga ended last summer and Dragon Cry was released in theaters so I have a lot to say about that! There’s so much to talk about with what’s coming this year and I can’t wait to discuss it and hopefully get some feedback on what you’re looking forward to.
We’re sorry we haven’t been able to put up any new content the last several months. That will start to change now thankfully. We do have a vlog waiting to be edited so be sure to watch for that since it will be our first vlog on our Youtube Channel. We just got a free movie editor so bear with us while we figure out it’s features and deal with the editing process! We appreciate all of you who kept following us! 2018 will be a great year!
So sorry for the delay, I know I haven’t blogged in a bit! Things have been hectic so it was difficult to blog the past couple weeks. The dust is settling a little bit so I DO have blogs for Worldend, Attack on Titan, and My Hero Academia on the way! Again, sorry for the delay!
