Attack on Titan Ep 37

So much happened this episode. You’ll forgive me if I can’t keep up with all the character names. Haha. I’ll do my best to look them up for this blog so I don’t confuse anyone or sound silly.

Hannes’ death was inevitable to me. It just seemed like it would be to happy of an ending for this story if he didn’t die. That’s weird coming out of my mouth since I’m usually not into darker drama anime but this is one of the rare exceptions. It was heart breaking tow watch Eren witness another person close to him be eaten by a titan again. You could see how much it pained Mikasa to see Eren scream in grief. I did not expect the romantic moment between Eren and Mikasa but I was definitely happy to see it! I heard some people didn’t like it. I thought it was okay. It fell flat a little in some parts but it was forgivable to me.

I did not expect Eren to have the ability to control titans into attacking someone. That was a bit mind blowing for me. He couldn’t transform anymore and now he can control them. It seems to happen when his anger and the feeling of being threatened explodes and then suddenly the titans attack whatever is threatening him.

I forgot to add how much I loved the scenes of Historia fighting. It was the first time I’d ever seen her really do it and do it with purpose. It was well animated and got me excited to see more.

Seeing the man on top of the ape man’s shoulder was definitely a surprise. It’s already been proven that titan’s are of human origin. I’m curious if some grand scale war happened and the titan’s were used as weapons. That of course could turn out badly especially if they’re not sentient. I have so many theories running through my head and I’m debating on reading the manga. I already started on My Hero Academia so I have a feeling I’ll be happy I started reading it.

My Hero Academia Ep 25 Review

I was so excited for this episode and it totally delivered. I LOVE Bakugo and Todoroki. This fight was pretty cool but it wasn’t mind blowing like the fight with Deku. Not that it didn’t entertain of course!

I love how Bakugo demands his opponents be at their full power. He’s more insecure than he appears and if someone doesn’t give him their all in a fight, he feels insulted. He feels like he’s being looked down on. I’m curious where all that anger comes from. I’m guessing something happened to be that insecure. That’s not something that randomly happens. Well, in reality anyway, this is a fictional story lol.

The fight didn’t drag out too long. I’ve been reading the manga so I already knew how it was going to end. Todoroki is still struggling with his own demons so he wasn’t able to give his all this match. I couldn’t stop laughing over how pissed Bakugo was. He nearly got emotional though, that was interesting to see.

Things are changing for Ida now that his brother was taken down by a villain. It really showed how much super hero families put so much pressure on each other. At least with Ida’s family it wasn’t to the degree of Todoroki’s.

The awards ceremony was a riot. Seeing Bakugo chained up with a muzzle while he squirms and growls was priceless. I couldn’t stop laughing. The gold medal hanging out of his mouth was a nice touch. Oh, how I adore that kid.

I didn’t think we’d see so much one one episode but i was impressed with how well it was done. The pacing didn’t feel rushed despite how much was revealed in this episode. I didn’t expect for them to do Shouto going to visit his mom. My heart melted when he said the first thing he wants to do is save his mom! Gah! My heart!

This episode was a blast. I got a kick out of Bakugo’s angry teeth brushing. I couldn’t stop laughing! Did you watch this episode? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

Food Blog: Shiro Miso Soup and Curry w/ Rice

Welcome to our first food blog! Entertainment isn’t all we cover! Now that we’re starting them, they will always be posted on Saturdays, but not every Saturday. Just whenever we try something new or have a recipe to share, it will be posted on a Saturday!

Today I tried Shiro Miso Soup and Curry with Rice. I’m going to start with the curry and rice first.

curry (3)

Golden Curry is the brand I used. Before, we had tried the “medium” and this time we went up to medium hot. Cameron loves spicy things and has a very high tolerance. I want to catch up with him so this is one way to do it. We purchased pork slices and boiled potatoes to put in the curry. We also added 4 chocolate kisses for flavor. Never knew chocolate could make a “dinner” taste so fantastic but damn, does it do the job. We had stick rice with the curry and I was in heaven. It wasn’t too spicy honestly. I felt a heat in my mouth but it was very pleasant. I actually wished it was hotter. LOL When I was growing up, I hated rice but I cleared my plate with that curry. I think I’ve found a new comfort food!

foodmiso (2)

This was the Shiro Miso Soup. It was an instant soup where you just add boiling water. I was excited to try it since the brand was Japanese. I’ve been wanting to try Miso soup for awhile now since I’ve seen them so much on youtube food blogs. It comes out in a powdery form as shown above with dehydrated pieces of seaweed and fish. The smell reminded me of cooked broccoli but not in a bad way (i HATE cooked broccoli lol). It also smelled fishy which was to be expected.

misohot (2)

The soup transformed once I added the boiling water. Suddenly there was little fish cakes floating everywhere three times the size they were as well as good size seaweed pieces. Using chopsticks I stirred it thoroughly then took the plunge and drank directly from the bowl. At first it reminded me of clam chowder but extremely watered down. I think that’s due to the fishy taste. I definitely enjoyed the soup itself. The little fish cakes tasted like water potatoes honestly. The seaweed pieces were a disappointment though, they definitely tasted like cooked broccoli. Thankfully it wasn’t to the degree that made me gag, it was just slightly unpleasant but not inedible. I can tell it’s a cheap soup but for a cheap japanese soup in america, it wasn’t half bad. Not my first choice but if there’s nothing else to eat in the house, I wouldn’t be opposed to eating it. That sounds worse than it actually is intended. Haha. It’s just not something that makes me want to come back to it repeatedly but it doesn’t make me not want to eat it at all either.

Side note, I was quite proud of myself when I was able to translate the characters on the miso soup package that said “miso” LOL I recognized them from my lessons and I got so excited. Hehe.

That’s it for our first food blog! Have you tried these products? What did you think of them and do you prepare it differently or add something to it? Let us know in the comments!

Boruto Ep 10 Review

I have mixed feelings on this one. I honestly can’t think of a whole lot to say on this episode. The scenario of them taking on a job that lets them wonder around to investigate seems a bit cheesy. Not like this is the first time we’ve seen this scenario in an anime or cartoon. The failed mail deliveries I could see coming a mile away. Of course that wasn’t going to go well for them.

This episode just sort of fell flat for me. It seemed more filler than anything. I can barely remember all the details that happened except for the failed mail delivers why they try to investigate “the ghost”. I wish I had more to say on this episode, but I just don’t. The past couple episodes I’ve been feeling like Boruto hasn’t been pulling at me like it has in the past. I’m starting to forget when it airs and forgetting to watch it (hence the late review). Hopefully the next episode will give me more to talk about.

Kado: The Right answer Ep 6 Review

This anime continues to impress. I can’t get over how beautiful the opening theme song is. It really sets the mood for what kind of anime you’re watching. Now that Zashuina has shown the world how to create their own wam, the drama between the rest of the countries was eliminated. I’m glad that drama didn’t last long. Didn’t want to see different countries fighting over something that could help evolve mankind!

Most of the episode was the movement of Kado. They made something that would be tedious and boring into something beautiful to witness. You could really see just how large Kado was compared to everything on the planet surface. I can’t imagine something like that happening in reality. This anime makes it seem so real even though it is animated. Cameron and I are watching the dubs and so far, it’s just fine. It wasn’t a huge drastic difference between the English and Japanese voices.

Now that Kado has been moved to a more rual area, we find out that Shindo hasn’t been sleeping the entire time. An entire month without sleep?! So, apparently Shindo is an evolved version of the human race now. I wonder if this is going to happen more on a global scale now? I have no idea where this anime is going. You really can’t get a sense of what will happen next which is why I keep coming back every episode!

Worldend Ep 7 Review

Now that Ctholly can’t really fight anymore since her body’s changed, she can’t seem to really figure out what to do with herself. Meanwhile, there’s more “leprechauns” in an air ship we’re shown. I didn’t expect that, for their to be more of them. It seems like the plot is thickening quickly.

Looks like romance is really starting between Ctholly and Willem, although, at the moment, it seems one sided. Ctholly is adorable trying to make him notice her with simple things as cooking and cleaning. It does seem to have an affect on her, however. I really wish we knew what Willem’s age is! I can’t remember if we were told or not. I’m guessing early twenties judging by his maturity. The butter cake scene was precious as well as the exchange between them. This anime really pulls at my heart strings.

We finally got to see the surface and see the beasts that took over it. It reminded me of a giant bug. The scenes were surprisingly violent. I did forget there has been violence of this sort earlier in the series, I just sort of forgot. We don’t get to see the girls fight to often. Anyway, thankfully the ship it was attacking happened to have those two leprechans. They killed the beast but seems they may be stranded on the surface. I’m anxious to learn more of the history of humans and how their “creation” destroyed them. At least, thats what I gathered.

P.S. Sorry for the dely with blog posts! I’ve been sick. Expect “Kado” and “Boruto” reviews to soon follow!

Fairy Tail Manga chapter 539 Review

Now we have a crack in the sky. I theorized this was Acnologia and while Wendy and the others began to panic as the crack increased, I knew my suspicions were probably right. Then of course, Acnologia’s arm comes crashing out of the crack. Seeing the blue pegasus guild deal with this horror while still morning over Ichiya definitely pulled at the heart strings. I really love Mashima’s story telling. He knows how to suck you in and love all the characters he created, no matter how annoying that had been.

Acnologia is absolutely terrifying. To think that failed to even wipe out his existence. It makes me wonder what’s happened to Ichiya and Anna. Did they really die? Acnologia survived but he does eat magic, so that might have something to do with it. That Eternal Flare attack made his destruction of Tenrou Island look tiny in comparison. Mashima did well to draw out just how large and terrifying this dragon and his magic is. I honestly can’t tell what town he’s destroying though. Is that Magnolia? Since Erza’s mother’s spell broke, I don’t know where anyone is anyone more at this point. lol Except for Lucy and them. I know where they are. LOL

After his massive attack, he makes Wendy vanish. This is curious and I’m glad this is quickly answered with in the next pages. All the dragon slayers start to disappear. This of course makes me think, what’s happened to Natsu? The image of Lucy sobbing his name ripped my heart out. In her perspective, he’s vanished from existence. The amount of trauma that she must be feeling had to be overwhelming. She has lost so many people close to her. Her parents, Aquarius, watching herself die, and then when Natsu disappeared for a year. Now she thinks he’s dead.

And then the next page….NATSU’S ALIVE! You have no idea how much his disappearance was giving me damn anxiety all week! I was so afraid Lucy was going to have to do something special to bring him back. Really was hoping for something different. Well, Mashima definitely delivered on that! So, Natsu is fine. He was just transported with the other dragon slayers to face Acnologia. This is going to be awesome. I can not WAIT for this fight!

With Lucy sobbing over Natsu’s “death”, I keep thinking what an intense reunion this could end up being when she see’s Natsu is alive. We did get a kiss between Haru and Ellie in Rave Master so whose to say we wont get one in Fairy Tail? And unlike Rave Master, Fairy Tail is an ecchi. *snicker* Well, anyway, I’m hoping this will lead to an eventual awesome Nalu moment. I’m biased in that regard I know. I enjoy the story of Fairy Tail itself too though and I love the fight scenes.

Did you read this chapter? What did you think of it? Are you excited for the next battle? Let me know in the comments!
