Fan Art Friday

Welcome to Fan Art Fridays! Each Friday I will sketch fan art of an anime/manga character. Sometimes it will be sketches of scenes from anime/manga and some will be original fan art. Original fan art will have the black and white version that’s publicaly posted and a colored version available to MyPatreon members! For the first piece, I sketched chibi Gintama! This isn’t an original, I sketched it freehand from an image I found.  If you like my work be sure to check out our art gallery!

My Hero Academia Ep 25 Review

I was so excited for this episode and it totally delivered. I LOVE Bakugo and Todoroki. This fight was pretty cool but it wasn’t mind blowing like the fight with Deku. Not that it didn’t entertain of course!

I love how Bakugo demands his opponents be at their full power. He’s more insecure than he appears and if someone doesn’t give him their all in a fight, he feels insulted. He feels like he’s being looked down on. I’m curious where all that anger comes from. I’m guessing something happened to be that insecure. That’s not something that randomly happens. Well, in reality anyway, this is a fictional story lol.

The fight didn’t drag out too long. I’ve been reading the manga so I already knew how it was going to end. Todoroki is still struggling with his own demons so he wasn’t able to give his all this match. I couldn’t stop laughing over how pissed Bakugo was. He nearly got emotional though, that was interesting to see.

Things are changing for Ida now that his brother was taken down by a villain. It really showed how much super hero families put so much pressure on each other. At least with Ida’s family it wasn’t to the degree of Todoroki’s.

The awards ceremony was a riot. Seeing Bakugo chained up with a muzzle while he squirms and growls was priceless. I couldn’t stop laughing. The gold medal hanging out of his mouth was a nice touch. Oh, how I adore that kid.

I didn’t think we’d see so much one one episode but i was impressed with how well it was done. The pacing didn’t feel rushed despite how much was revealed in this episode. I didn’t expect for them to do Shouto going to visit his mom. My heart melted when he said the first thing he wants to do is save his mom! Gah! My heart!

This episode was a blast. I got a kick out of Bakugo’s angry teeth brushing. I couldn’t stop laughing! Did you watch this episode? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

Worldend Ep 7 Review

Now that Ctholly can’t really fight anymore since her body’s changed, she can’t seem to really figure out what to do with herself. Meanwhile, there’s more “leprechauns” in an air ship we’re shown. I didn’t expect that, for their to be more of them. It seems like the plot is thickening quickly.

Looks like romance is really starting between Ctholly and Willem, although, at the moment, it seems one sided. Ctholly is adorable trying to make him notice her with simple things as cooking and cleaning. It does seem to have an affect on her, however. I really wish we knew what Willem’s age is! I can’t remember if we were told or not. I’m guessing early twenties judging by his maturity. The butter cake scene was precious as well as the exchange between them. This anime really pulls at my heart strings.

We finally got to see the surface and see the beasts that took over it. It reminded me of a giant bug. The scenes were surprisingly violent. I did forget there has been violence of this sort earlier in the series, I just sort of forgot. We don’t get to see the girls fight to often. Anyway, thankfully the ship it was attacking happened to have those two leprechans. They killed the beast but seems they may be stranded on the surface. I’m anxious to learn more of the history of humans and how their “creation” destroyed them. At least, thats what I gathered.

Did you see this episode? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

Attack on Titan Episode 36 Review

There was a lot happening in this episode. Of course we started right where we left off as usual. They’re chasing down Reiner and the others to get Eren and Christa back. I was looking forward to a lot of fighting this episode, especially with Mikasa. When she fights, she’s fantastic. I can’t keep my eyes off her!

It was amusing to watch Ymir pull Christa out of her mouth but a little gross at the same time to watch her spit up Ymir’s saliva. Ew. It was cute how Christa didn’t freak out. It surprised me just how open Ymir decided to be towards Christa and how Christa didn’t hesitate to say she’d help her. I really love those two together. I’m trying not to get too attached to them though. This is a drama so, one of them could die. -.-

So the other titans attack Reiner and the others. It shows what different kind of titan’s they are. Still more questions need to be answered as to why they can turn into titans in the first place. I have a feeling that’s not going to get answered this season. Still considering picking up the manga. I might be able to fit in one more manga review after Fairy Tail ends (which is in 7 weeks).

When Mikasa gets onto the armored titan, the look in her eyes was absolutely terrifying. It was probably the scariest when she as peering between the giant fingers to see Eren. She was not going to hesitate to kill anyone who got in her way of saving Eren. There are times when I wonder if this relationship is healthy or not. LOL Dire circumstances living in that kind of world though so that kind of violence I guess is to be expected.

Erwin was absolutely bad ass in this episode. While telling his men to charge to rescue Eren, I was not expecting the titan attack. He barely flinched too and just kept telling his men to keep going! There wasn’t fear on his face, just determination and will. Of course as the titan runs off with his arm, dragging him behind him, you think he’s dead. Who wouldn’t? But nope. Right when when they make an opening to save Eren, he shows up like a bad ass and frees him!

This was an awesome episode. A lot happened and we got a lot of action. I was hoping to see more of Mikasa and I’m glad I got what I asked for! Did you watch the episode? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

Also…did anyone else notice the silly look on this horses face after the titan ate his rider?

I can’t get enough of that face. LOL

My Hero Academia Ep 23 Review

WOW!! That episode blew me away! It went directions I was not expecting whatsoever. The way Izuku was using his quirk was pretty predictable. He paced himself although I think he should have paced himself a little more. He definitely needs more training on controlling that quirk even a little. He still has no real control except focusing it to just one particular limb. I was cringing over him using broken fingers, making them look dark purple. AGH! Ow!! The fact Izuku was still able to throw punches was incredible!

Todoroki’s fighting wasn’t all that exciting in the beginning of the fight. Izuku was calling him out on it too and I admired that. Instead of taking advantage of the fact that his opponent wasn’t using his full power, he egged him on to use all he’s got. We got to see more of Todorok’s past and how he grew up. His mother was a piece of work. It’s too bad she felt it necessary to take her terror out on her own child! Anyway, I was trying really hard not to cry.

When FINALLy Todoroki unleashes his full power…holy…shit. It was absolutely incredible! That power is incredible! That last blast at the end of the fight was absolute mind blowing and the animation and sound effects were perfect! I reacted vocally to it and even got choked up at how incredible that scene was! THIS is why I love Shonen! That episode was just so fantastic. Todoroki is by far, my favorite character in the series…he ties with Bakugo honestly. Those two are my favorites! I can’t wait for the next episode! This anime is awesome. Did you watch it? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

Chain Chronicle Series Review

I liked it. I didn’t love it, but I liked it. I liked it because it was a pretty good fantasy story full of different types of magical creatures. I liked the take on ogres, sprites, fairies, mages, etc. It was unique its own way. The animation was absolutely gorgeous and the fight scenes were well animated. There were times where I felt a few episodes were rushed but not enough to dislike the series as a whole.

I can’t say I love it and here’s why. The series lost me a bit when Yuri turned to the darkness. I detested that part of the story. I just didn’t like it. Its so cliche having a hero fall and get help to find his way back again. It’s redundant and I’m just not a fan of that type of scenario. Yuri was a great character. Perhaps I’m biased since he was my favorite but he always stood up, no matter how many times he was knocked down. It didn’t matter the darkness was trying to eat at him he always resisted. Since he wouldn’t submit, they had to make that demon witch push him over the edge. As soon as Yuri turned dark and joined the dark army, I just wasn’t as into the show anymore. I was thoroughly disappointed.

During the last two episodes I was concerned Yuri and Fina were both gonna die. If that was going to happen, it would totally ruin the entire series for me. I detest stories that kill off main characters. Maybe some people like that for dramatic affect, but personally I prefer my favorite characters to live, thank you very much. I was happy to see that Yuri and Fina didn’t die. I also loved how Yuri reacted when Fina went limp in his arms. It was clear he loved her and I sort of got all fan girl about it. I was elated to see her come back to life, back to Yuri.

I had hoped to see more what happened after the dark king was destroyed. I wanted to see more of Yuri and Fina, but I guess it really wasn’t necessary. Perhaps I’m biased since I happen to really like the relationship between ┬áthose two. lol

So in the end, I give it a 6 out of 10. It was decent. Not something I find the need to rewatch but I don’t regret watching it. If you like a good fantasy anime, I recommend it. It’s not too bad and if you like English dubs, the dubs are pretty good thanks to Funimation.
