Attack on Titan Episode 36 Review

There was a lot happening in this episode. Of course we started right where we left off as usual. They’re chasing down Reiner and the others to get Eren and Christa back. I was looking forward to a lot of fighting this episode, especially with Mikasa. When she fights, she’s fantastic. I can’t keep my eyes off her!

It was amusing to watch Ymir pull Christa out of her mouth but a little gross at the same time to watch her spit up Ymir’s saliva. Ew. It was cute how Christa didn’t freak out. It surprised me just how open Ymir decided to be towards Christa and how Christa didn’t hesitate to say she’d help her. I really love those two together. I’m trying not to get too attached to them though. This is a drama so, one of them could die. -.-

So the other titans attack Reiner and the others. It shows what different kind of titan’s they are. Still more questions need to be answered as to why they can turn into titans in the first place. I have a feeling that’s not going to get answered this season. Still considering picking up the manga. I might be able to fit in one more manga review after Fairy Tail ends (which is in 7 weeks).

When Mikasa gets onto the armored titan, the look in her eyes was absolutely terrifying. It was probably the scariest when she as peering between the giant fingers to see Eren. She was not going to hesitate to kill anyone who got in her way of saving Eren. There are times when I wonder if this relationship is healthy or not. LOL Dire circumstances living in that kind of world though so that kind of violence I guess is to be expected.

Erwin was absolutely bad ass in this episode. While telling his men to charge to rescue Eren, I was not expecting the titan attack. He barely flinched too and just kept telling his men to keep going! There wasn’t fear on his face, just determination and will. Of course as the titan runs off with his arm, dragging him behind him, you think he’s dead. Who wouldn’t? But nope. Right when when they make an opening to save Eren, he shows up like a bad ass and frees him!

This was an awesome episode. A lot happened and we got a lot of action. I was hoping to see more of Mikasa and I’m glad I got what I asked for! Did you watch the episode? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

Also…did anyone else notice the silly look on this horses face after the titan ate his rider?

W3xAuUc

I can’t get enough of that face. LOL

My Hero Academia Ep 24 Review

This anime keeps knocking it out of the park for me! This season has been exciting, emotional, and just fantastic. I’m always impatient for the next episode! I loved being able to see the scene when Todoroki beats Izuku again. Goose bumps every time! I can’t get over how well done the animation and sound effects are. It’s small things like this that make a great anime.

It was difficult to watch Izuku battle with himself emotionally after the match. I didn’t expect that he would have permanently damaged one of his hands. That’s going to be something that will always make him unique. The nurse was a little harsh with him but I was glad to see All Might still encouraging him and not letting him beat himself up too much. He did do something awesome when he saved Todoroki.

I was anxious to see the exchange between Todoroki and his dad. Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed! I was hoping he would tell him off and he certainly did. I’m very excited to see how Todoroki’s story line unfolds. He’s a very interesting character to me and he’s one of my favorites. His quirk is just phenomenal. At first, I didn’t stop to think just how much power he could possess with fire and ice until that fight. We all know how hot and cold air meeting can dramatically affect the weather. All Might even used Todoroki as an example as to what would happen if he had been given the quirk instead of Izuku. He would have been the most powerful super hero and unstoppable. It moved me to know that All Might had been quirkless once too, just like Izuku!

The fight between Kirishima and Bakugo was fun to watch. I like both those characters so I was kind of rooting for both of them, even though Bakugo is still my favorite. I just have a thing for hot tempers. LOL Anyway, in this episode we got to see just how smart Bakugo actually is when it comes to fighting. He studied Kirishima’s weakness and didn’t hesitate to exploit it. The fight with Tokoyami was even more impressive. Bakugo is proving to be that he’s more than just a hot temper and brawn. He studies his opponents so he knows how to defeat them. This is an awesome talent he already has that will definitely be beneficial to his career as a hero.

I don’t have too much to say about the other fights. They didn’t really give me much of an impression but I was okay with that. It didn’t make the anime boring or anything. The fights were fun to watch in the moment but they didn’t make me cheer.

I admit I was not prepared for the drama that was unfolding with Ida and his family. Of course, eventually I knew some serious fights and episodes would be in the future. Now it looks like we’re starting to transition into a new arc and it’s going to be a dark one. I’m curious to know what that’s going to be like and how much character development we’ll get to see.

The fight we get to see in the next episode is going to be epic! Todoroki verses Bakugo? What a match up! It’ll be interesting to see how this fight plays out. I have a feeling Todoroki might use more of his ice half with Bakugo. I’m not sure how good ice can be at blocking explosions. That’s when I think Todoroki would use both his quirks to create an explosion of his own. We saw how big he could make one and it was much bigger than any of Bakugo’s we’ve seen so far.

Did you watch this episode? What did you think of it? Which fight have you liked most so far? Let me know in the comments!

Fairy Tail Chapter 537 & 538 Review

There’s a lot to say about these two chapters because there was SO much emotion that I’m still reeling from what I read. Sorry it’s taken me a bit to get this posted but better later than never!

In 537, seeing the moment between Mavis and Zeref was powerful. We waited so long for this, for the two of them to actually talk and for him to actually listen. Granted it took him until he was beaten down by his little brother to finally get a clue, better late than never I guess. Mavis’ words to him was really intense. She hated him but loved him at the same time. She hated him for what he did to her and her friends, but she loved him because she knows why he did it. She knows he’s been suffering for centuries. It was admirable and beautiful. I adore Mavis. Her kindness, understanding, and forgiving nature is admirable. I loved how she said exactly as she felt, releasing her anger and frustration, while still expressing just how much she loved him and what good things he DID do. God, Mashima really knows how to pull on the heartstrings. And I did not expect Markarov to come back!! I have mixed feelings on that at the moment but Mashima has yet to disappoint me so I’m going to hold off giving remarks on it until the manga is over. It was a great ending to Zeref and Mavis’ tragic story. Their love story was so incredibly tragic. It’s completely opposite to what Lucy and Natsu’s relationship is. That’s something I’m sure Mashima did on purpose. I’m hoping since Zeref and Mavis’ tragic love story ended in death, if that means Natsu and Lucy’s heart warming story will end in life.

Chapter 538 is one that is still haunting me. We see Lucy fixing Natsu’s book. She seems to know exactly what she’s doing. I paid attention to the details about her saying she had all the memories written of the Natsu they know. I didn’t expect Gray to be able to use his magic to remove what was plaguing Lucy but I’m glad he was able to. When the book started to disappear, I got emotional when Happy started to get emotional and Lucy grabbed him, holding him tight. They were so terrified of losing Natsu. God, so was I! Then that moment when Natsu appeared and Lucy’s face…gah! She’s in love with that guy, I don’t care what anyone says!

I was feeling relief when they were talking and bantering back and forth as they always use to. This was normal. This was typical Fairy Tail. Then, Lucy brings up to Happy about what he and Natsu wanted to do after the war. I find the look on Happy’s face curious when he asks Natsu if he wants to announce it. He’s got that mischievous look he gets when he teases Lucy that she likes him. Oh god…but when Natsu is no where to be found, my heart just dropped to pit of the earth. Then Lucy’s reaction had me crying of course. The devastation on her face and the way she screamed and sobbed for Natsu. All this sorrow, then we got to a scene of Wendy seeing a crack appear in the sky. I’m thinking that has something to do with Acnologia.

Back to Lucy and Natsu. It seems like there’s no possible way to bring Natsu back. Zeref is dead and the book disappeared. There’s no source. It makes it sound pretty depressing, doesn’t it? Well, being obsessed with Fairy Tail, I’ve reread and rewatched the manga and anime many times. Back when Lucy is being trained by Capricorn before the Grand Magic Games, she talks about primordial magic. She talks about how her mother told her it wasn’t something tangible, that it’s love. LOVE. Natsu and Lucy have an incredibly strong bond built with trust and facing danger together frequently. They’re the closest to each other than to anyone else. Lucy has already brought Natsu back to life on more than one occasion. There were times where he should have been dead but he heard Lucy’s voice, felt her magic and he came back. Her tears brought him back to life in the movie. Lucy is a very sociable, kind-hearted person. She’s known for her kindness and mercy towards those who have mistreated her. She’s made friends out of enemies. I theorize that Lucy possesses primordial magic and that will bring Natsu back. Don’t quote me on it but its what I’m theorizing. Primordial magic hasn’t been brought up much since the Tenrou arc though so I hope that doesn’t become a plot hole. >.<

Fairy Tail Fridays Delayed

I jumped the gun on this one and found myself unable to keep up with it. I got too many anime and manga reviews, I just can’t keep up. I’ll be writing them up ahead of time on my computer and start scheduling their releases soon. I’m just going to have to pace myself more on this series so I don’t rush it. I want to make sure I give good detailed accurate information on Fairy Tail lore and their characters. This manga and anime is very important to me, its my absolute favorite so I want to represent Hiro Mashima’s work accurately. Sorry about the news but hopefully you’ll stick around for when I start posting them! I’m so bummed I couldn’t keep up!

Worldend Ep 6 Review

This was an emotional one. I wanted to know why Ctholly was having those nightmares and visions, now we know why! The fact those those fairies are souls that were from the dead, that’s awful. The fact that it was one of Willem’s former human comrades whose behind it, is even worse. Willem’s reaction was definitely no surprise. Those precious girls he adores were being used by someone he had once trusted. Regardless of the reasons, they were innocent children and definitely should not have been subjected to this. Willem brought up perfect points about what is it he would exactly be returning to on the surface. It had been 500 years since he had been down there and no one they knew was alive.

Seeing Ctholly struggle with her battle was hard to watch. She was trying so hard to fight but stay alive at the same time. She kept thinking about those butter cakes she wanted Willem to make for her. Despite the fact her mind was deteriorating from her previous life memories trying to return, she was so determined not to chase after those memories. This is just my perspective, but I think she was seeing it as there was no reason to remember her past. She didn’t need to know it since she only cared about the present and the future. That’s how I saw it anyway.

It was also difficult to watch Willem grieve over Ctholly’s inevitable deterioration into death. He was expecting she’d never open her eyes again. The pain on his face was very well animated. I appreciate good animation when it comes to male expression. I don’t know why but sometimes animation can totally miss the mark on expression with men. lol Of course, I totally fan girled when Ctholly woke up and started talking to him, telling him that he’s been her first for so many things, down to being the first man she ever fell in love with. GAH! I did not expect him to cry! The way he loves her is just absolutely precious. I was definitely crying especially after he told her “welcome home” and she just burst into tears in his arms.

Now we get to wonder what cost this came at when she fought that deterioration. Stuff like this makes me nervous, I really don’t want either character to die. That was put a damper on this anime for me. Are you watching this anime? What did you think of this episode? Let me know in the comments!

Attack on Titan Ep 35 Review

This episode was interesting to say the least. Eren sure is a crazy bastard. Reiner was holding onto him like he was a wild dog. I couldn’t help but laugh when Eren was desperately biting at his arms. LOL. I can’t hate Ymir for her choices, especially after learning her past. To be adopted only to be thrown under the bus. I’m more than curious now about humans who turn into titans since it’s obvious Ymir didn’t start out that way. Her affection for Christa is sweet and I love the affect Christa has on Ymir. Personalty clashes like that are always my favorites.

Seems like this episode made me laugh more often. When the scouts run into Ymir in her titan form, it was obvious she was looking for Christa. I laughed when she ignored Conny. Then when Christa showed up, I did not expect Ymir to swallow her! I couldn’t help but laugh because of Christa’s reaction. “Eh?!” LOL. I think that was the first time a titan swallowing a human wasn’t terrifying, just funny.

So, Reiner and the others are on the run again. The scouts are still chasing them. I’m curious where they’re going. There’s a lot going on beyond what Eren’s home knows, or perhaps they do know and chose not to disclose the information? I’m curious about the turn of events! It’s too bad we’re only getting 13 episodes. Did you watch this episode? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

My Hero Academia Ep 23 Review

WOW!! That episode blew me away! It went directions I was not expecting whatsoever. The way Izuku was using his quirk was pretty predictable. He paced himself although I think he should have paced himself a little more. He definitely needs more training on controlling that quirk even a little. He still has no real control except focusing it to just one particular limb. I was cringing over him using broken fingers, making them look dark purple. AGH! Ow!! The fact Izuku was still able to throw punches was incredible!

Todoroki’s fighting wasn’t all that exciting in the beginning of the fight. Izuku was calling him out on it too and I admired that. Instead of taking advantage of the fact that his opponent wasn’t using his full power, he egged him on to use all he’s got. We got to see more of Todorok’s past and how he grew up. His mother was a piece of work. It’s too bad she felt it necessary to take her terror out on her own child! Anyway, I was trying really hard not to cry.

When FINALLy Todoroki unleashes his full power…holy…shit. It was absolutely incredible! That power is incredible! That last blast at the end of the fight was absolute mind blowing and the animation and sound effects were perfect! I reacted vocally to it and even got choked up at how incredible that scene was! THIS is why I love Shonen! That episode was just so fantastic. Todoroki is by far, my favorite character in the series…he ties with Bakugo honestly. Those two are my favorites! I can’t wait for the next episode! This anime is awesome. Did you watch it? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!

First Thought Mondays! Kado: The Right Answer

I was surprised and happy to find this dubbed already. Cameron and I had started it with subtitles but decided to give the dubs a try. Not a bad cast and it made it easier for me to take in the details of the animation.

You definitely don’t feel like you’re in a sci-fi anime in this first episode. At least for most of it. We get introduced to Shindo and Hanamori. We see their skills with working with people and Shindo’s talent for negotiations. There’s nothing super natural going on. It’s just a normal day in Japan. While Shindo and Hanamori are on a plane for a business trip, they spot a square object in the sky getting bigger. Eventually it covers the airplane and they get trapped into this large box. It’s huge, taller than all the buildings in Japan. This is where the first episode leaves you. It’s entirely jaw dropping because it was like you were watching a slice life anime one minute then suddenly you’re watching sci-fi! The animation is done really well. I’m usually not a fan of 3-D but in this anime it’s done pretty well. It doesn’t look too fake.

So I’ll add this anime to my watch and review list! Have you seen this one yet? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments!
